Flower Bulbs Special

I stumbled upon a great little deal on another blog(she has great deals posted all the time, check her out My Brain is Inside Out)

Bulbs Direct has the following Easter Special: Buy 100 bulbs, get 100 free: includes poppy anemones, brodiaea, gladiolus, liatrus and ixia. These flowers have a bloom time of late spring through late summer.

Use code GN1020059 to get free priority shipping on your order plus a 15% discount.....this makes the final cost for 200 bulbs only $11.04. These are so inexpensive, the bulbs are probably pretty small, but all of these plants are perennials and will get bigger year after year. There are several other very inexpensive bulb collections available as well, all of which also qualify for free priority shipping, but the Easter Special is the most bang for the buck.

Thanks, Queen!

Late to Mass

Not us...
This couple, probably in their 60s?70s?  Every single 5pm Mass...late.  Blatantly.  Middle of the Gospel Reading, late.  Like, Mass is halfway over, late.  I don't understand it!  They don't have small children to dress.  They don't seem handicapped at all.  They obviously can figure out after hundreds of times coming in late that 5pm Mass does not start at 525pm.
I have little room to complain...we don't always make it to Mass...sometimes I have an excuse.  But, whem we go, we get there on time...I've been late once in 32 years, 5 minutes late.  We don't even miss going very often, I'm jut saying, sometimes we do miss.
Come on, people!  It hurts me to see 2 capable adults walk into Mass at 525 each week...leave earlier!

3/28 a great week to start Waggin'

If you don't already shop at Walgreens and use their Register Rewards program, the week of 3/28/10 would be a great week to start!  Many items are free after register rewards(FARR).  I have some beginner scenarios lined out:

trans 1:
Dentek Floss 2.00(-$1IP)=1.00
pay $1.00+tax, get 2RR
trans 2:
Dove Haircare 4.00(-$2IP)=2.00
1 Easter tumbler (-in ad ivc) 0.13
use 2RR from trans 1, pay 0.13+tax, get 4RR

In my city, that's $1.65 including tax for floss & shampoo, get back that 4RR...profit of 2.35.

Tracking your Savings, and Spending!

I started tracking my shopping trends in January 2010 on a great little excel spreadsheet.  Feel free to download it and use it for your own tracking.
I feel like March has been a little pricey for me...I have done quite a few transactions at CVS and Walgreens, and the tax adds up fast!  I'm sure it will even out in April, as I am very prepared at home and can spend a little less time shopping and a little more time gardening and playing with my sons.
I'm adding a feature on the side bar were you can glimpse my savings month by month.

Target coupons for Refreshing your Household

There are several good Target Coupons available right now...bedding, dishes, ottomans, area rugs...I used some Qs yesterday to score beach towels for 50 cents each, and new solar lighting for my front walkway for $1 each.  I put the lights out today, so when my irises start blooming, you'll get to see them in action!

I'm a finalist! Vote!

I'm a finalist in a local blog contest at 918CouponQueen.  You can look at pics and vote here by leaving a comment of your fav.  The contest ends Monday, and the winner gets a $100 Target gift card.  Since I spent about $35 at Target to stock my freezers, that $100 gift card could go a long way to keep my family fed!  Go vote for who you think should win, even if it's not me(but I'll gladly accept your vote!)

Funny story:  A couple weeks ago, I discovered my freezer was not freezing..eek!  My husband was working alot and no time to look at it, so I took the plunge and ordered a new freezer.  Well, at my suggestion, we discovered that the problem was the thermostat, and fixed the old one for a $40 part, the day before the new one came in!  So, now I have 2 chest freezers, which I like because I can stay more organized, and have room to put all our garden goodies this year!  So, we lost a few things in the fiasco, but it hadn't been very stocked.  Fortunately, the problem came at a time when I needed to restock on bread, meat, etc.  So, I scoured the ads and hit Target & Homeland and stocked back up for a low cost!  I love SuperTarget, by the way!  If you check often, you can usually score some pretty good deals on meat and produce...I found some stew meat and roasts that I ended up paying about 50 cents/lb for...what a deal!

Only one of my pics is shown on the voting page, but here are some others I took:
my inside freezer, with junk food

my veggie, bread, cheese freezer

my meat freezer, holding currently about a month's worth of dinner plans and 2-3 months worth of lunches

MIA

So, I have been a slacker about posting.  I gave been busy chasing after a newly-mobile son mostly, but also still shopping, cooking, gardening.  My days are pretty full.  So, I am still around, but really most of the deal-related info comes out on hundreds of blogs every day, I don't feel the need to rehash it on this one.  So, I'll keep chasing around the speed-demon, and look for me to share recipes and gardening pics(hopefully) later on this year....
